Seven Years of Amplifying Our Impact Together
May 1st, 2017, saw the merger of two esteemed organizations: the Association of Jewish Family and Children’s Agencies (AJFCA) and the International Association of Jewish Vocational Services (IAJVS). This union created The Network, dedicated to advancing the cause of Jewish human service agencies, setting the stage for the incredible journey that lay ahead.
Fast forward to 2024, and The Network has evolved into an international membership association of 171+ nonprofit Jewish human service agencies across the US, Canada, and Israel. Together, as we amplify your impact, our combined endeavors effect the lives of close to two million clients every year.
Our growth and impact extend far beyond our membership numbers. The Network has become:
- An Innovation Hub, tackling the sector’s most pressing challenges head-on.
- A Convenor, fostering networking, professional development, and partnerships that strengthen our collective impact.
- A Capacity-Builder, offering consultation, grants, and opportunities to empower agencies to better serve their communities.
Together with our partners, we address a wide array of critical issues, from crisis response and Holocaust survivor services to poverty alleviation, refugee resettlement, and youth mental health support.
In 2023 alone we facilitated 165 NETGroup meetings, 59 NETLabs/NETTalks, hosted two impactful in-person conferences, and engaged over 3,000 member participants in trainings. We also provided over $1.9M in direct grants to 113 members, fueling their vital work in communities worldwide.
This year, we reached another significant milestone with our inaugural #HillDay, marking a historic moment in national advocacy for The Network in Congress. And as we celebrate our 7th anniversary, we are eagerly anticipating PowerNET2024 – the largest conference in our organization’s history – where over 540 participants will gather for a multi-day professional enrichment experience in Pittsburgh from May 5th to 8th.
None of these achievements would have been possible without the dedication, passion, and collaboration of our staff, members and supporters. As we mark this special occasion, let us celebrate how far we’ve come and look forward to the countless opportunities that lie ahead. Together, we will continue to make a profound and lasting impact on the lives of individuals and communities around the world.
