As Congress continues to address antisemitism in K-12 schools and universities, it is equally important to confront the rising discrimination within the healthcare sector, including mental health associations and schools of social work. Jewish students, social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists have been targeted, placed on “Zionist” blacklists, excluded from professional gatherings, and seen Zionism misrepresented as racist or even as a mental health disorder. These instances of bias are deeply troubling.
In response, the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) is organizing a Capitol Hill Fly-In on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. The goal is to bring these urgent concerns to Congress, advocating for oversight hearings on antisemitism in healthcare associations and educational institutions.
