The Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies is excited to be a national partner once again this year for Sharsheret Summit which will be held from October 9th – November 10. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month initiative hosted by Sharsheret is the source for the latest information on breast cancer and ovarian cancer in the Jewish community.
Sharsheret is a Network National Partner, and we at the Network understand that with some cancer rates rising, particularly in young people, this is an issue we must address as a community.
Sharsheret has responded to increased rates of cancer in the Jewish community by expanding their programs to include: financial subsidies for nonmedical needs; care kits to support people during treatment; and weekly webinars addressing the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of cancer.
During October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Network partners can participate in this national initiative in any of the following ways:
- Participate in the training “The Impact of Culturally Competent Cancer Care” on October 29 at 1pm EST. Free CE credit may be available through ASWB, NYSW, ANCC, and ACCME. Register today.
- Coordinate an event during the Summit and have your event publicized nationally on the Summit event calendar.
- Encourage your community to participate in virtual symposiums with a spotlight on advances in screening.
- Post educational images on social media and in your newsletter.
