Don’t Miss Out! Limited Spaces Left!
Due to popular demand, we’re thrilled to announce the return of the “Rock Your Data: Evaluation Capacity Building (ECB): Human-Centered Evaluation and Reporting” NETLab series! If you’re interested in adopting a more human-centered approach to evaluation and reporting, learning participatory and creative evaluation methods, or strengthening how you communicate your impact, don’t miss this opportunity.
Rock Your Data is for your organization if:
- You and at least one other person in your organization are really excited about evaluation and data.
- You are interested in moving beyond surveys and want to experiment with gathering data in more creative and human-centered ways.
- You want to learn more about how to report on and visualize data in a way that resonates with your audiences.
“Rock Your Data: Evaluation Capacity Building (ECB): Human-Centered Evaluation and Reporting” will be a project-based experience facilitated by a team of consultants from McClanahan Associates, Inc. (MAI).
This NETLab will center community in your data collection efforts, including learning more about participatory and creative evaluation methods, and will provide an overview of strategies for sharing your data and developing compelling messages for various audiences (e.g., your community, staff, funders) in an inclusive and accessible way.
This NETLab will consist of:
Group learning sessions: Will offer content, expert insights, and peer learning opportunities. Breakouts in the group learning sessions will also offer time for organizations to brainstorm ideas to apply content and insights to their own project. In between session 2 and 3 organizations will conduct a pilot where they will try out new, participatory and creative evaluation methods. Participants should plan to attend all sessions.
- Session 1: Participatory Evaluation- November 6th, 1:00-3:00pm ET: organizations will learn more about participatory evaluation and consider ways to more deeply engage community members in the evaluation process. Organizations will start by brainstorming evaluation topics and why a participatory evaluation approach could be beneficial.
- Session 2: Creative Evaluation Methods- November 21st, 1:00-3:00pm ET: In this session, organizations explore challenges and successes they have had with traditional evaluation approaches and data collection methods, will learn about creative methods, and will think about how those methods could be applied in their evaluation work.
- Session 3: Data Visualization and Storytelling- January 16th, 1:00-3:00pm ET: Building on their pilot, in session three organizations will learn strategies for clearly visualizing and presenting both quantitative and qualitative data and sharing their story and impact with various audiences.
Office Hours: Between the group learning sessions, participants can meet one-on-one for one hour with an evaluation capacity-building coach from MAI’s team. Organizations will have access to the same coach throughout the series and can schedule office hours at mutually agreeable times.
Culminating Event- February 12, 2025, 1:00-3:00pm ET: We will hold a virtual culminating event where participating organizations will have the opportunity to share their project with others for feedback.
Resources: Participants will be offered a guide with NETLab materials and resources to support strengthening their human-centered approach to evaluation and reporting during the series. At the end of the series, participants will have continued access to all series content and materials, ensuring ongoing access to these tools for future use and reference.
