The Business of Doing Good: Growing and Enhancing Your Clinical Department was a dynamic, 12-hour online symposium dedicated to empowering nonprofit leaders in mental health services. This transformative event was made possible by the generous support of Greenspace, as well as financial contributions from Crown Family Philanthropies, the Jim Joseph Foundation, and the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation. These funds were provided to Jewish Federations of North America in support of its BeWell initiative, a partnership between JFNA and The Network.

Designed to equip nonprofit leaders—including CEOs, COOs, and Clinical Directors—with actionable strategies, the symposium focused on enhancing organizational growth, financial resilience, and improving mental health service delivery. Through a series of engaging plenaries, workshops, and breakout sessions, attendees explored critical topics such as optimizing outreach, boosting team productivity, and refining financial operations, including best practices in billing, reimbursement, and coding.

Beyond expert-led sessions, participants had the unique opportunity to network and collaborate with peers, fostering valuable connections and shared problem-solving. The multi-day format allowed for in-depth discussions and skill-building exercises, ensuring attendees left with tangible tools to strengthen their clinical departments and drive long-term sustainability.

The symposium saw an impressive turnout, with over 90 individuals from 36 member agencies participating. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive—90% of participants expressed high satisfaction, while 100% agreed that the content was relevant and beneficial to their work.

In response to this success, The Network plans to continue supporting its members by offering additional resources, including NETTalks tailored to address ongoing challenges identified during the symposium. With this commitment to continuous learning and improvement, The Network aims to empower nonprofit leaders to navigate the complexities of mental health services with confidence and resilience.
