In February 2025, The Network launched a groundbreaking global clinical learning experience that brought together mental health clinicians from Network member agencies. This seven-day training and volunteer program in Israel provided participants with a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on learning around trauma and crisis response. Sponsored by The Network and Birthright Israel Onward, this initiative focused on equipping clinicians with the skills and insights needed to support individuals and communities impacted by trauma in high-stress environments.

During this transformative experience, clinicians worked closely with Israeli experts in trauma treatment at NATAL, a leading organization renowned for its work with individuals affected by conflict and collective trauma. The participants also volunteered with local organizations, gaining firsthand exposure to the complexities of trauma-informed care in real-world settings. This immersive training offered invaluable insight into how professionals navigate the psychological and emotional toll of ongoing crises, and how they can best support individuals and communities in their recovery.

Now, we invite you to join us for a special panel discussion on Tuesday, April 22nd, from 2:00-3:00 pm ET, where clinicians who participated in this clinical trip will share their reflections. This NETTalk will explore themes such as resilience, collective trauma, and the emotional challenges of bearing witness to others’ suffering. The panelists will also discuss how they have integrated the insights gained during their experience into their clinical practices and how this has shaped their approach to trauma-informed care in their communities.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear directly from clinicians who were on the front lines of learning and healing in Israel. Their experiences will offer valuable perspectives on the challenges and opportunities of working in trauma recovery, and the ways in which global collaboration can lead to more effective mental health interventions.
