The Network was recently featured in the Jewish Herald-Voice for organizing a powerful professional development experience that brought together 21 mental health clinicians from across North America—including representatives from Alexander Jewish Family Service (JFS) in Houston.

In partnership with Birthright Israel, The Network coordinated a unique opportunity for clinicians to travel to Israel for trauma-focused training with NATAL, the Israel Trauma and Resiliency Center. NATAL is internationally recognized for its work supporting individuals and communities affected by war and terrorism.

Among the participants was Noa Ben-Yehuda, Adult Program Lead at Alexander JFS, who reflected on the universal applications of the training:

“The external events causing the trauma can be different from place to place, but the psychological and community impact of trauma is in many ways the same.”

In addition to learning from NATAL’s decades of expertise, participants volunteered with local nonprofits supporting individuals impacted by the October 7 attacks and ongoing war in Israel—putting The Network’s values of community connection and compassion into action.

Carl Josehart, CEO of Alexander JFS, expressed appreciation for The Network’s leadership:

“We are grateful to NJHSA and Birthright for creating this opportunity to build and strengthen relationships with colleagues from across the U.S., Canada, and Israel and to exchange expertise and share best practices.”

We are proud to be a part of this impactful initiative and to see The Network’s efforts recognized in national media.
