This summer I had the privilege of interning at The Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies. I worked on various projects and did extensive research to help develop The Network. Additionally, I had the opportunity to develop valuable skills. This internship was transformative and memorable and provided me with another glimpse into the professional world.
A standout aspect of my internship was the people. Throughout my experience, I found that every individual I worked with was collaborative, communicative, and genuine. The culture was one where everyone was respectful and engaging. Everyone was committed to helping each other succeed, ensuring everyone was heard and supported. During my ten weeks at The Network, I felt the culture, community, and support within the organization. Meetings consisted of laughter and fun while ensuring diligence and task completion. There is strong employee engagement and meaningful relationships which cultivate an enjoyable experience. The projects I worked on provided me with experience, knowledge, and skills to apply to my studies and work experience, including extensive research and analysis using my abilities to search through large amounts of information and identify key items and insights. I created detailed charts and spreadsheets with organized information in a concise manner. It was truly amazing to see my work come together at the end of each project and I am proud of the work I completed.
Throughout my internship, I developed a range of skills that will be put forth in any of my professional settings. The ability to communicate with a team and interact with members was a key focus. I sharpened my research skills with every project and I became more organized with each assignment I was given. I learned the importance of balancing tasks, time management, open-mindedness, and collaborating with others. My experience at The Network reinforced my values of teamwork and achieving common goals. My internship experience was enriching and allowed me to grow personally and professionally. Additionally, I had the opportunity of attending Project EM workshops that create a safe learning and collaborative environment for individuals going through the job search experience and journey provided by member agencies of The Network. As a college student, I was able to relate and connect to others as well as learn from other participants.
Everything I encountered throughout these ten weeks has left a lasting impact. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such an impactful and positive environment and organization. As I move forward, the people, projects, and skills I have encountered will become the foundation for my career.
