The Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies is resolute in its opposition to the openly racist, bigoted and anti-Semitic protests which took place this past weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia and extends its deepest condolences to the Bro-Heyer family on the tragic loss of their daughter Heather Heyer and to the families of Virginia State Police Lieutenant H. Jay Cullen and Trooper Berke M. M. Bates. We also offer our wishes for a full and speedy recovery to the many who suffered injuries as a direct result of senseless acts of violence. As a Network of over 140 direct service agencies which provide comprehensive human services, in a Jewish context, for refugees, Holocaust Survivors and countless others who often feel marginalized by the mainstream, we are especially distressed by the display of intolerance, deep hatred and complete lack of regard for basic civility. This behavior and these views have no place in the United States of America.

As our nation continues to struggle and finds itself increasingly divided, the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies is proud to turn to its Jewish values of embracing the stranger and of repairing the world and will continue to provide immediate, professional, comprehensive and caring support for all who are in need.
