Todd Schenk
CEO, Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA) of Rockville, MD
Todd joined JSSA as Chief Executive Officer in 2014. Under his leadership JSSA has more than doubled in size, expanding to meet unmet needs in the community and becoming a key partner in the healthcare system to address the health and wellness of members of the community. During Todd’s leadership, JSSA has developed successive five-year strategic plans to guide the agency’s growth, deepened a commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and has expanded the agency’s service offerings in Montgomery County, MD, the District and northern Virginia.
Todd brings a balanced background blending clinical and business training to help JSSA chart a path to financial health and sustainability, while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence.
Todd came to JSSA from the Jewish Board in NYC, where he enjoyed a 20-year tenure spanning roles in service leadership, budget oversight, strategic planning, program innovation and ultimately as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to the Jewish Board, he worked in Boston with Concilio Hispano, where he provided child protective services to Spanish-speaking families and offered drug/alcohol counseling to Latino inmates in the prison system.
Todd has been recognized by multiple trade associations and advocacy groups for his leadership in advancing new mental health service models. He has been published as a contributing author in Strategies for Deconstructing Racism in the Health and Human Services as well as a research article studying the application of trauma screening on client service in community mental health.
Todd earned a BA from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), a M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology from Cambridge College and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
He lives in Bethesda with his wife, Pamela, and eagerly anticipates college breaks when his twin daughters, Rae and Jordan, return home. Todd enjoys spending time with his family and two dogs, hiking the beautiful trails locally, cooking/smoking food and traveling all-too-infrequently.
