SUMMARY:NETTalk: Donor Communications That Work: Appeals\, Newsletters & Stewardship
DESCRIPTION:Most agencies are already sending donor communications\, but many are unsure whether those communications are doing what they need them to do. This session would focus on the practical elements that make direct marketing stronger\, from audience selection and message structure to copywriting\, design\, timing\, and follow-up. \nRather than focusing only on fundraising appeals\, this webinar would look at the broader ecosystem of donor communications: appeals\, impact updates\, newsletters\, gratitude messages\, event follow-up\, and donor education. \nTopics Covered:\n• What makes a strong fundraising appeal \n• Common mistakes in donor letters and emails \n• How to write for donors instead of writing about the organization \n• Why segmentation matters and how to start simply \n• How to use stories\, impact\, urgency\, and clear calls to action \n• When newsletters help and when they become clutter \n• How stewardship communications support future giving \n• Design and readability considerations for donor audiences \n• How to evaluate results against your own historical performance \nParticipants would leave with:\n• A checklist for improving appeals and donor communications \n• A clearer understanding of how messaging changes by audience segment \n• Practical ways to strengthen donor-centered writing \n• Guidance on how to review campaign performance after the fact \nBest Audience: Fundraisers\, communications staff\, annual giving staff\, program staff involved in storytelling\, and smaller agencies where one person may be responsible for many types of communication. \nAbout the Presenters:\n \nLesley Cole is Co-Founder of Jigsaw Analytics Group\, where she helps mission-driven organizations strengthen fundraising\, donor communications\, and campaign strategy. She previously worked in mass communication fundraising at the Jewish Federation of San Diego County then served in a similar role at the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles\, supporting a significantly larger fundraising campaign. Lesley brings hands-on experience with direct mail\, email\, newsletters\, stewardship\, and donor-centered messaging\, along with a deep understanding of Jewish communal life. She holds a master’s degree in Holocaust and Genocide Studies from Gratz and has participated in Taglit-Birthright Israel\, staffed multiple Birthright trips\, and traveled to Cuba through JDC Entwine. \n \nDavid Gonzalez is Co-Founder of Jigsaw Analytics Group\, where he helps nonprofits use data\, financial analysis\, and business intelligence to make stronger fundraising and communications decisions. He holds an MBA with a focus in finance and accounting and previously worked as a financial analyst at multiple investment banks over the course of 12 years. David then served as a financial analyst at the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles\, where he co-founded the organization’s Business Intelligence team. His work focuses on helping organizations understand donor behavior\, evaluate campaign performance\, improve segmentation\, and translate data into practical fundraising strategy.

SUMMARY:Salary Negotiation
DESCRIPTION:You’re not imagining it—the rules of the game have changed. Pay transparency laws gave us more data\, but they didn’t necessarily level the playing field. We’ve entered an era of tighter budgets\, cautious hiring\, and stricter internal decision-making\, where negotiation is no longer a given. To succeed now\, you need a sophisticated\, holistic strategy. During this webinar\, we’ll show you a value-first approach that starts at the very first interview\, not the final offer. You’ll walk away knowing exactly how to position yourself as their #1 “must-have” candidate\, so they actually want to pay you more. \nDuring this webinar\, we’ll cover…\n• An overview of the hiring climate in 2026 and how the new pay transparency laws have changed the game\n• The importance of defining your personal non-negotiables and strategically applying only to jobs that align\n• How to build a business case (from the beginning!) that makes it easy for a hiring manager to justify giving you more\n• Step-by-step tactics and sample scripts for discussing salary at every stage of the hiring process\n• How to evaluate an offer and determine when to say yes\, when to push back\, and when to walk away

SUMMARY:AI Literacy: Developing Your AI Into a Useful Assistant
DESCRIPTION:AI now plays a major role in hiring\, résumé screening\, and workplace communication — but most people misunderstand how it actually works. This 4‑day class teaches you how to supervise AI\, not rely on it. You’ll learn what AI really does (pattern prediction\, not thinking)\, how to describe its behavior accurately\, and how to evaluate its output with human judgment. \nYou’ll also learn how to make your skills visible to AI‑based résumé screeners\, rewrite vague statements so AI can recognize them\, and apply AI literacy principles to real job‑search and client‑support tasks. By the end of the course\, you’ll understand how to use AI safely\, clearly\, and effectively — and how to guide others to do the same.

SUMMARY:POP-UP JOINT NETGroup: Older Adult Services\, Holocaust Survivor Services Professionals/Supervisors/Directors
DESCRIPTION:Topic: Community Partnerships Cohort – Elder Abuse Awareness and Prevention \nPlease join us for a special meeting with Sacred Spaces to learn about their upcoming Elder Abuse Awareness and Prevention: Community Partnerships Cohort and learn how you can bring Elder Abuse Awareness and Prevention to your community. \nSacred Spaces builds the capacity of Jewish organizations to prevent and respond to abuse and other forms of misconduct across the lifespan. Through our Seivah: Sacred Aging program\, we provide resources\, education\, and consultation to support professionals and organizations in strengthening their knowledge and skills to address elder abuse and neglect within the Jewish community. \nThis virtual cohort is centered on partnership. We recognize that no single organization can meet the growing needs of older adults alone. Meaningful collaboration is essential – and this cohort is built with that reality in mind. \nParticipants will engage in: \n• Expert-led learning sessions focused on elder abuse prevention and response \n• Peer-based community of practice sessions \n• Optional implementation of a joint project\, supported by a stipend of $1600. \nThis cohort invites professionals from Jewish organizations that offer programming and services to older Jewish adults to apply in pairs – two individuals from two different organizations in the same geographic area. Individuals may also partner with someone from a secular organization\, as long as the collaboration is focused on preventing and responding to elder abuse in the Jewish community. \nThe cohort will run from October 2026 through March 2027. Cohort members commit to attending all three learning sessions (2 hours each) and 2 out of 3 peer-to-peer sessions. \n• Learning Session 1: Wednesday\, October 14 1:00 PM ET – 3:00 PM ET \n• Learning Session 2: Wednesday\, October 28 1:00 PM ET – 3:00 PM ET \n• Learning Session 3: Wednesday\, December 2 1:00 PM ET – 3:00 PM ET

SUMMARY:AI Literacy: Developing Your AI Into a Useful Assistant

By the end of the course\, you’ll understand how to use AI safely\, clearly\, and effectively — and how to guide others to do the same.
