Are you looking to strengthen how you communicate about your impact and participant stories with various audiences? \nIf so\, our upcoming NETLab series\, “Rock Your Data: Evaluation Capacity Building (ECB): Human-Centered Evaluation and Reporting” is for you and your agency! Learn more about this project-based series before registering in our information webinar on September 23\, 2024 from 12:30-1:30pm. This will be an opportunity for organizations to learn more about the series\, explore their readiness to engage\, and meet the MAI team. \nThis NetLab is different from the 2022/2023 Rock Your Data: Evaluation Planning series which supported 10 organizations to develop core evaluation questions\, plan for gathering new data or identifying existing data to answer those questions\, and sketch out an approach for using data to inform program decisions. While it’s not necessary to have participated in Evaluation Planning to participate in this series\, this session builds on Evaluation Planning indirectly by offering an opportunity to consider how to apply equitable\, or human centered\, approaches to your evaluation. While Evaluation Planning was about planning for data collection and use\, Human Centered Evaluation will engage you in a participatory process\, where you will test out new evaluation approaches.

SUMMARY:REGISTRATION OPEN - Rock Your Data: Human-Centered Evaluation and Reporting
DESCRIPTION:Important information about registration:  \n\nSlots for the series are limited – up to 12 organizations will be selected on a first come\, first serve basis.\nFees are $540 per organization for a team of 2-3 staff.\nTo be considered for participation\, you must:\nCommit to Attending All Sessions. Expectations include attending all group learning sessions and the culminating event. Utilization of office hours will be optional; however\, teams are encouraged to attend for individualized support.\nHave More Than One Participant Per Organization. Each organization should plan to have a 3 person team participate. We recommend identifying a core team that will represent different perspectives and experiences within your organization and selected program. Consider how lived experience\, gender\, race\, and age contribute to using data and evaluation as important drivers for change\, as well as how diverse staff roles\, tenures\, and expertise areas can be represented. Ideally\, the team should include a senior-level leader from the selected program\, a data and/or communication staff member (if relevant)\, and individuals who serve in different roles related to the selected program or project.\nIdentify a Program You Want to Focus On. Organizations will focus on a particular program\, not the organization as a whole.\nCommit to Ongoing Data Use. Participating organizations will commit to using data to respond to the needs and goals of their constituents beyond the duration of the series.\n\nRock Your Data is for your organization if:  \n\nYou and at least one other person in your organization are really excited about evaluation and data.\nYou are interested in moving beyond surveys and want to experiment with gathering data in more creative and human-centered ways.\nYou want to learn more about how to report on and visualize data in a way that resonates with your audiences.\n\n“Rock Your Data: Evaluation Capacity Building (ECB): Human-Centered Evaluation and Reporting” will be a project-based experience facilitated by a team of consultants from McClanahan Associates\, Inc. (MAI). \nThis NETLab will center community in your data collection efforts\, including learning more about participatory and creative evaluation methods\, and will provide an overview of strategies for sharing your data and developing compelling messages for various audiences (e.g.\, your community\, staff\, funders) in an inclusive and accessible way. \nThis NETLab will consist of: \nGroup learning sessions: Will offer content\, expert insights\, and peer learning opportunities. Breakouts in the group learning sessions will also offer time for organizations to brainstorm ideas to apply content and insights to their own project. In between session 2 and 3 organizations will conduct a pilot where they will try out new\, participatory and creative evaluation methods. Participants should plan to attend all sessions. \n\nSession 1: Participatory Evaluation- November 6th\, 1:00-3:00pm ET: organizations will learn more about participatory evaluation and consider ways to more deeply engage community members in the evaluation process. Organizations will start by brainstorming evaluation topics and why a participatory evaluation approach could be beneficial.\nSession 2: Creative Evaluation Methods- November 21st\, 1:00-3:00pm ET: In this session\, organizations explore challenges and successes they have had with traditional evaluation approaches and data collection methods\, will learn about creative methods\, and will think about how those methods could be applied in their evaluation work.\nSession 3: Data Visualization and Storytelling- January 16th\, 1:00-3:00pm ET: Building on their pilot\, in session three organizations will learn strategies for clearly visualizing and presenting both quantitative and qualitative data and sharing their story and impact with various audiences.\n\nOffice Hours: Between the group learning sessions\, participants can meet one-on-one for one hour with an evaluation capacity-building coach from MAI’s team. Organizations will have access to the same coach throughout the series and can schedule office hours at mutually agreeable times. \nCulminating Event- February 12\, 2025\, 1:00-3:00pm ET: We will hold a virtual culminating event where participating organizations will have the opportunity to share their project with others for feedback. \nResources: Participants will be offered a guide with NETLab materials and resources to support strengthening their human-centered approach to evaluation and reporting during the series. At the end of the series\, participants will have continued access to all series content and materials\, ensuring ongoing access to these tools for future use and reference.
