SUMMARY:NETGroup: Disabilities Services Professionals
DESCRIPTION:Topic: Disability\, Dating\, Boundaries\, and Healthy Relationships \nWe have invited Ryan Berman\, MSW\, Director\, Disability Services at Jewish Family and Children’s Services San Francisco\, The Peninsula\, Marin and Sonoma Counties\, to join us for an open and thoughtful conversation focused on supporting adults with disabilities as they navigate dating\, relationships\, boundaries\, and social connection. \nThis session will be informed by the development and implementation of Special Connections\, a dating program designed by Ryan and his team to help adults with disabilities begin and navigate the dating process. The program focuses on readiness\, communication\, boundaries\, and social skills. While it does not include a formal sexuality education component\, it intentionally partners with sexual health professionals who lead workshops for participants and families. During our discussion\, we will explore how and why this model was structured in this way\, along with key learnings from these collaborations. \nThese are important and nuanced issues\, and we look forward to learning from and with one another in a supportive peer environment. We encourage participants to come prepared with questions\, experiences\, or situations they would like to think through together. \nWe hope you’ll join us for this meaningful conversation. \n \nThis program is made possible by Galaxy Digital\, creators of Get Connected Volunteer Technology. Get Connected supports one of the world’s largest volunteer networks – empowering over 400 Volunteer Centers\, 60\,000+ nonprofit organizations\, and millions of volunteers. SUMMARY:The Reinvention Economy and How to Build Your Own Career Path Forward
DESCRIPTION:The world of work has changed\, and it's not changing back. The career ladder has been replaced by something messier\, more human\, and more demanding of the people and organizations trying to navigate it. Whether you're finding your first job\, pivoting after a layoff\, or rethinking what success looks like at midlife\, the question isn't just "what skills do I need?" It's "how do I think\, adapt\, and grow in a world that won't stop shifting?" \nOur guest speaker Dr. Shane Goldstein Smith will help you more deeply understand the reinvention economy\, share frameworks for helping you build your own path forward rather than follow a borrowed one\, and explore why emotional intelligence and strategic thinking are no longer "nice to haves\,” they are vocational skills. \nExpect to leave with practical takeaways\, some provocative questions\, a different way of thinking about the work you do every day and ideas to start you on forging your plan and path forward. \nThere will be 20 minutes of open networking with fellow job seekers after the presentation.
