SUMMARY:NETGroup: Older Adult Services
DESCRIPTION:Topic: Holding our feelings when they don’t align with clients \nFor our next NETGroup on Tuesday\, November 12th at 3:30pm ET\, we thought to talk about the election. Not who you voted for or didn’t vote for\, of course\, but rather how you hold your feelings. It can be especially hard when your feelings don’t align with someone else’s feelings & especially hard when they are a client\, and your feelings are not appropriate to share. How do we sit with that as professionals? Do we avoid the conversation? Do we ever share our perspective? How do we process during and after &/or repair a rupture in our therapeutic alliance should one arise?

SUMMARY:Housing Workgroup
DESCRIPTION:Topic: Housing development funding models – typical models and creative ideas to fund housing production and preservation \nNew construction or substantial renovation of a multifamily affordable apartment building requires significant funding and building the funding stack is the first major hurdle to clear when planning for a new development project. We’ll begin with a high-level overview of some of the typical funding sources (including HUD and LIHTC)\, discuss the role of the state and local government in supporting the development project\, and talk through some of the sources that can help plug remaining holes in the development budget. We will then open the conversation to additional creative ideas that could help fund housing production and preservation. Workgroup members who have developed housing (or are in the process of developing)\, please come prepared to share best practices\, lessons learned\, and innovative ideas. \n  \nPlease note that we will reserve the last 10 minutes of the call to brainstorm workgroup topics for 2025.

SUMMARY:NETGroup: Home Care Administrators
DESCRIPTION:Topic: How to FIND and TRAIN Ideal Full Time Care Workers \nFor our meeting on November 21 at 1:30pm ET (originally scheduled for November 7th at 1:30pm) we thought to discuss who are our ideal care workers? \nWhat are their attributes? Are we taking action to be selective when we first hire them or do we hire them and then weed out those who are not appropriate? Do we keep our workers even when they are not good? How do we foster professional development when there is a gap in their skills? Can we foster it? For this conversation we are talking about full-time employees. \nLet’s learn from and with each other. Of course\, if you have burning issues\, please bring them to our NETGroup. We are here for you.
