SUMMARY:NETGroup: Holocaust Survivor Services Professionals
DESCRIPTION:Topic: Holocaust Survivor Day with The Coordinator –Ted Davis of the JCC in Krakow\, Poland \nHolocaust Survivor Day (HSD) is a dedicated day (June 4th annually) to celebrate the bravery\, sacrifices\, and post-war lives of Holocaust survivors. Join HSD Coordinator Ted Davis of JCC Krakow\, the organization behind this international movement\, for a special Holocaust Survivor Services Professionals NETGroup session about the vision\, history\, and possibilities for HSD in 2025 and beyond. Since it will include a brainstorming/workshop component\, the meeting will be especially beneficial if you already arrive with some preliminary ideas about how to honor your local survivors this June. \nAbout Holocaust Survivor Day: \nHolocaust survivors are models of courage and resilience. Holocaust Survivor Day is an opportunity to honor survivors while learning from their lives and the examples they have set for generations to come. We believe in a world in which every survivor knows that they are deeply respected\, cherished\, and loved for contributing to their families\, communities\, and the world at large. Holocaust Survivor Day calls on people everywhere to celebrate survivors’ lives; thank survivors for their contributions and lessons; and respond to survivors’ contemporary needs. \nWe believe that Holocaust survivors are our teachers\, but the responsibility of passing on their testimonies and legacies lies with all of us. On June 4th annually\, organizations from around the world come together to celebrate survivors. Each organization and community holds their own event(s) locally\, and we collectively celebrate everyone who survived.

SUMMARY:NETGroup: Domestic Violence Collaborative NETGroup
DESCRIPTION:Topic: Peer-to-Peer Support Session \nWe are looking forward to seeing you at our next meeting of the Domestic Violence Collaborative NETGroup\, a collaboration of The Network and JWI (Jewish Women’s International). \nThis session will offer peer-to-peer support and is designed for staff who are working with survivors of domestic abuse in any capacity\, regardless of whether that work is done through an existing domestic abuse program or a program set up to primarily respond to another need (such as financial assistance or older adult services). \nWith concerns about funding freezes and cuts that could affect critical resources (such as shelter\, legal assistance\, support for immigrants and refugees\, and crisis response)\, many of us are also feeling additional pressure\, anxiety\, and/or frustration. This uncertainty and — in some cases — diminished staff capacity or available resources\, can make it seem even more challenging to support the people we’re working with while managing our own thoughts and experiences. \nFacilitated to foster open dialogue\, this forum provides a space for attendees to share challenges\, resource ideas\, and strategies for providing abuse survivors with trauma-informed spiritual\, physical\, and emotional support through a Jewish lens. Keeping in mind the idea that no one does this work alone\, we’ll also offer each other support and community as we navigate these ever-evolving challenges together.
