The Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies (the “Network”) values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personally identifiable information (“personal data”). The Network AI Policy

Generative artificial intelligence (AI) offers a chance to help The Network in many ways, improving how we meet our member agencies’ and our community’s needs. We recognize, however, that fulfilling our mission, vision and values to provide meaningful resources to our members and to elevate the human services sector require us to work above all to create human connections. For The Network, artificial intelligence (AI) will always remain in service to and never be a replacement for those connections, human knowledge, and human understanding.

Given the ever-changing nature of AI and the valid concerns about AI’s potential for ethical challenges, when The Network uses AI, we will do so ethically and responsibly, by applying the following principles:

• Trust: We will not rely on AI but instead use it as a tool to support our work. This includes ensuring that all writing, products, and resources produced with AI support are fact-checked, proofread, and edited to ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with The Network’s mission and values.
• Responsibility and Accountability: We hold each individual using AI tools accountable for their decision-making based on the tools. We will use AI in ways that allow us to maintain trust with the community we support. We will use AI in support of human decision-making, expertise, and creativity, and not in place of human expertise.
• Addressing Bias and Fairness: We make our best efforts to identify and mitigate biases in algorithms and data through careful review of AI outputs. We work to ensure that AI tools we use support our commitment to combat hate in all forms.
• Ethical Standards for Vendor Selection and AI Development: Understanding the challenges of emerging technology, we will make our best efforts to ensure that AI tools we use and the vendors who supply these tools meet our ethical standards to combat hate in all forms. We will continue to focus leadership attention periodically on this problem.
• Legal and Regulatory Compliance: To every extent possible, we will ensure compliance with laws and regulations, align AI practices with legal standards, and prepare for future regulations in a timely way.
